This week's post is a homage to my state of birth and my lovely wife. She's a skater, a WVU grad and known to throw a sweet set of fives when card playing. If she were to ever try out the roller derby the Hillbilly Haymaker would be her moniker.
Drawing is in pencil, color is my first go at Sketchbook Pro on the ipad.
Kicks. Ass.

Wurd... What else is there to say? Well....okay except for what I just typed....love the smooth texture and colors of her skin. Alright I've said enough.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys. Yeah getting smooth with the ipad was a tad difficult at first, I had to pretend I was airbrushing and use some old skills.
ReplyDeleteI think that was the most interesting thing to watch: was that you would airbrush in an area and then erase the excess parts. It was like watching a clinic on iPad art and it was your first time. That's why I hate you.
DeleteBah that was just me pretending to work in charcoal, most of my digital work I think as if I am working with traditional media. Hell this piece wouldn't have worked without you being there sharing your iPadomancy knowledge. So as the anti drug commercial goes, " I learned it from watching you!"
DeleteIt goes without saying that I LOVE IT! (But I'll say it anyway- and I just did!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sweetie!
DeleteIt rocks
ReplyDeleteThanks! Damn I should have mentioned you in the post, weren't you the first to coin the name?
DeleteYes, he was. It was the direct result of his being the first victim of the Haymaker! (All because he offered me a plate)
DeletePretty damn cool - tell your wife to go ahead and try out for the derby. I am one of the newest members of the Orlando Psycho City Derby Girls and my name is Hillbilly Hoot'n Annie. I love your illustration.
ReplyDeleteAwesome Roller Derby name! Thanks for dropping by, looking at the work and leaving the comment, glad you like it!
