Take 2

So recently I was invited to produce an image for a poster art show here in Cleveland.  My mind went right back to my Donkey Kong piece from our Exploitation Film poster challenge.

I enjoyed the old piece but it wasn't the correct size for the show and there was some stuff I needed to fix (cause as you may know, as a creator of a thing you are always going to see the bits that need fixing).  SO pressed for time and the want to set some stuff right I revisited Donkey Kong.

Here's the newest version complete with text!  Hope you enjoy.
(I'll throw up the info for the show when it's available)

Wk 23: Mamma Mia!

While thinking about the exploitation movie poster it would seem that it requires a few things, a bad guy, a lady and a promise of extreme action.  Donkey Kong seemed the all too obvious a choice, right?  We got a ape with destructive intentions a damsel in distress and a working class hero, how this was never a movie in the seventies I'll never know!
This one, like the most of the others, pencil on vellum colored in Photoshop.  To be honest there are a few things I am not entirely done with in this piece but I like it well enough to jump back in at some point in the future to finish it up.  Until then I hope you enjoy.

Week 23: Seventies Exploitation

Everything was better in the seventies.

Cars were tougher, music was louder, hot pants were everywhere, and the movie posters were totally bitchin.

This week the RBMC tackles the 70's Exploitation genre!  Loving homages of sometimes ridiculous movies by sometimes ridiculous artists.

So strap in, grab some popcorn, and enjoy the show!
