Ben Takes You To Space!
Boy have I neglected this blog. Well, I've neglected mine too, but that is neither here nor there. Either way, the rest of the monsters were heading out to Genghis Con while I was driving back from Philadelphia so I couldn't attend. But why not send something along for them. So I sat down one night and threw this together. I've never really played with half tones in Manga Studio so that was pretty fun. I could actually see me abusing it if I'm not careful. You can watch a time lapse of the drawing being made in the video below. If you enjoy the video, please like and subscribe. Thanks!

Behold The Triple Lindy
![]() |
Click the image, count the lines. |
Hey Folks, Randy here sharing the first of many previews of the upcoming "Triple Lindy" art show Oct 9th at BAYArts. The show is a collaboration between fellow monster Jim Giar and our good pal Ryan Finley. All three of us teach cartooning at BAYArts, and they asked us to come up with a showcase.
This is one of our buddy art pieces. It was made by all three of us penciling and then adding the finishes all by myself. While the show is really a 3 part solo show, there'll be a lot of buddy art with Jim and Ryan applying finishes as well. If you're in the area, and you like things that are cool, you should make it out.
But, if not, we'll post more from it along the way.

BRITE WINTER 2015!
A couple of weekends back, in the middle of a snow storm Cleveland came out to one of the city's best music and arts festivals of the year! In the warm, luxury of the Great Lakes Brewery Company's tasting room, nestled next to one of the festival's many stages we painted our first mural of 2015! We had a lot of fun, listened to a ton of great bands and talked with many of Cleveland's heartiest of festival goers.
We will be getting this piece properly shot soon and will share when we can but until then here's a few of the detail and action shots we took during the night.

Thanks so much to everyone who came out and braved this snow filled winter. Thanks to Brite Winter for putting on this great festival and special thanks to Great Lakes Brewing Company for supplying a warm room and great venue for music and art.
AND!
It's Cleveland Scene Magazine, Best of... voting season again. If you have the time we'd be honored to be considered for nomination again. Thanks!

Outer Space Cheesecake!
The title pretty much says it all. "Spacey" here is a sticker that I made (sans background) for an upcoming show. I figured i'd throw on a background and show her off here.

Tim: Don't scream Ripley, something will hear you.
So last week I was planning to just draw a quick sketch of Ripley, then H.R. Giger passed away, and I figured a more in depth piece was needed.
Tune in next week (actually this Thursday) for, when i'll have a drawing of 'Spider-woman'.
