In keeping with the "prints we'll have at FCBD this weekend" theme, I wanted to post the new color version of this piece I shared on Valentines Day. It's part of a larger collection (more on that soon), but I printed a limited number of these for the event to share the love early.

I took last weeks grim and gritty black and white drawing and made it into this weeks grim and gritty color drawing. I’ll have prints of this at Carol And John’s this friday at my table as well at the RBMC’s table. I think it’d look great in your kid’s room...or yours.

Calling A Big Ol' Soft Spot

With Valentines Day around the corner, it was a good time to celebrate my love...of wrestling. If you've been following my Instagram, you know how just how often a masked gentleman will make an appearance.  I'll take a wrestler over a superhero most days, but it might be because I don't own any capes. 

Since Valentines Day is right around the corner, I've released this as a print and a sticker in case you've got a special wrestling nerd/mask enthusiast in your life. Stay cool out there, friends.

We're Okay

This week it's an actual Rust Belt Monster Collective. I'm a huge fan of being proud of where you're from, but this is more my speed. Cleveland's great, I guess. 

2014 was the year I embraced this style fully, after flirting with it for a long time. Sometimes on this very blog.  I've got no intention of stopping anytime soon, so better get used to it.

Happy New Year Rust Belters! If you've been following me on Instagram, you might've noticed that I ended 2014 with a flurry of posts. However, if you're only following me here, you'd think that I'm a lazy so and so because its been sparse at best. So, 2015 is all about keeping a schedule. You'll see something from me every single Friday.

Outer Space Cheesecake!

The title pretty much says it all. "Spacey" here is a sticker that I made (sans background) for an upcoming show. I figured i'd throw on a background and show her off here.

Tim: Super #1!

Hey look a giant robot! We're (my rust belt buds and I)  drawing all sorts of robots this week, and here's mine! I grew up in the 1980's watching a ton of cartoons with giant heroic robots...and "Super #1" here is my (very obvious) homage to the best of them!

If you're in the Northeast Ohio area this weekend, you should come to "Ingenuity Fest" and see us (the rust belt again) paint a giant mural with all sorts of robots on it,  including this dude here!

Ohio: The Heart Of It All.

The Monsters are cooking up something giant for this years Ingenuity Fest, and it involves Robots.  I've decided to add a bit of local pride into my contribution to our loosely guarded secret project. I couldn't draw a nuclear power plant head without thinking about Perry, Ohio.  With any luck, I'll have stickers of this dude at Ingenuity, and you know he'll make your lunchbox the coolest. 

Just remember. Monsters + Robots + Giant, I KNOW you like those things.

I Believe In Jack Kirby

When John Dudas of Carol And John's Comic Shop asked me to put a sticker together to celebrate the King's birthday, it was a pretty big deal for me. John was the one who pushed Mr. Kirby's work on me years and years ago, and forever changing my underground comics influenced artwork.  More than a decade later I'm constantly looking to Jack for inspiration, and this sticker is a very small thank you for that. Happy Birthday, Sir. 

The stickers will be available at Carol And John's comic shop to support the Kirby4Hero's campaign. 

Hot!

I do tight pencils, and I'm always sad to see them go once I finish a piece in Illustrator, this is the first attempt at blending those two worlds.  I dunno about you, but I think they go together like peanut butter and jelly, so you'll probably see some more stuff like this. In the meantime I'll keep mixing up peanut butter and jelly inside my tummy.

Go Home! You Can't Stay Here

While framing this print for the Drawn And Quartered gallery show this weekend, I realized that I never shared it with my rusty buddies.  I hope you guys never go home, stay as long as you like!  It was originally drawn for Cleveland Exotic Dance's winter soiree last year, which I could pretend is the reason I drew a giant naked lady, but you'd never believe that.

Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder

Your pal Randy here, and if you've been following the blog this week, then you know that there's a Marvel Comics themed art show happening at Carol And John's Comic shop on Free Comic Book Day.

I like Galactus, and I like eating my feelings so this one came together pretty fast.  If you like those things (they go hand in hand like ramen noodles and peanut butter toast) It'll be available framed and unframed at the event, which you should be going to anyway.

For shits and giggles, instead of using photoshop this month, I created the original version of the poster in Illustrator (the one following this bable).

Hey Pals, Randy here.  I'm trying my best to share my world with my daughter as much as possible, so it's only natural the first dinosaur I drew for her room would be listening to a boom box.  Besides, If "Put your hands in the air and wave em like you just dont care" isn't solid dad advice, I dunno what is.
