Randy, 2013 Pole Showcase

My OZ piece needs a couple more days in the oven, so I'll just put this here in the meantime.

I do a lot of stuff for Cleveland Exotic Dance, and this weekend they held their yearly showcase of some of their and other studios pole dance students doing routines.

Here's the flyer I made for the event (notice the "Watcher" tattoo on her arm).

And here's four pieces I did for the gallery space in the studio.

The gallery work went over well, so I'll be posting more things along the same lines in the near future, but first I've got to slay a few photoshop demons standing in the way of this OZ piece.

Randy, Round 35: Never Ending Adventure Time

I haven't seen The Never Ending Story for more than a decade but I knew I wanted to crib the poster art for our Adventure Time challenge.  What I didn't expect just how apt of a title it was when I decided to use it as an excuse to level up my meager photoshop skillz.

I used a lot of bad words finishing this.  A whole mess of bad words.  I probably leveled up my cursing skillz in the process.

Expect more things looking like this to come from me in the near future.  I think the style suits me personally, as well as in the fabric of the group.  Also, I didn't spend easter weekend yelling at a computer screen for one drawing.

Randy, Non-Topic: Doll Bambino Cubed

A drawing of our pal Doll Bambino from my sketchbook while I color my Adventure Time piece.  This really happened, I only drew it so there would be proof.

Randy, Round 36: I See A Darkness

I drew Johnny Cash, then I gave him tentacles, so I made him better.

While working on this I listened to a lot of the American series that he produced with Rick Rubin,  was struck by how much his style changed songs I'd heard dozens of times before.

I think that's something I, and I think the collective as a whole really strives for.
