Hey Adventure Lovers! I made this for our buddy Angela's gallery show! It's cut paper and colored pencil and a little bit of marker. Adventure time is my favorite show ever. Shmowzow!

Randy, Round 35: Never Ending Adventure Time

I haven't seen The Never Ending Story for more than a decade but I knew I wanted to crib the poster art for our Adventure Time challenge.  What I didn't expect just how apt of a title it was when I decided to use it as an excuse to level up my meager photoshop skillz.

I used a lot of bad words finishing this.  A whole mess of bad words.  I probably leveled up my cursing skillz in the process.

Expect more things looking like this to come from me in the near future.  I think the style suits me personally, as well as in the fabric of the group.  Also, I didn't spend easter weekend yelling at a computer screen for one drawing.

Round 35: Get Ready For Adventure!

Full disclosure: I've only seen 1 or 2 episodes so far, but I definitely see its appeal.  I'm trying to catch up on my Rust Belt Monster challenges and put together a quick drawing for Adventure Time.  Drawn completely in Sketchbook Pro with a little touch up in Photoshop.  I played around with the S-Curve tool to try and keep the characters organic.  Normally I draw my characters more blocky and I'm trying to get around that a  little bit.

Round 35: The Croak Dream

Adventure Time is a show about a boy and his talking, infinitely malleable dog and their adventures in a world filled with talking candy creatures, monsters, heroes, sentient flora and fauna, farts, giggly humor, good times and it occasionally tackles topics like DEATH.  Not just death, but love, relationships, duty, honor , friendship.  It's all woven in there, difficulties of being human acted out by talking animals and people made of candy.  It doesn't talk down to it's viewers of any age and that's why I like it.
This image is inspired by the episode, "The New Frontier" which is tied for my favorite with the episode, "Thank You".  So get out there and enjoy some good cartoons and thanks for stopping by!
