Round 32: Go Team Venture!

This round, the RBMC tackles the world's greatest crime fighting family and their brawny mercenary, Brock Samson!  Keep checking the blog as we'll be rolling out the art.  Its kind of what we do.

No Derezzing (In Progress)

In spite of the work quickly piling up on my desk, I wanted to get at least the pencils of my Tron/Boba Fett mashup posted before the next challenge.

I can't wait to light this sucker up and make my inner 14 year old all giddy.

Aliens Are Just Like Us

Just a quick dip into the vault which yielded a couple Alien-Tastic roughs.  The top one was an attempt to paint over a sketch in Sketchbook Pro on the ipad.  Might have to reintroduce that to my work flow.

Tim, Round 31: Walt Disney Corp. Owns My Childhood

Recipe for disaster:
take 1 part "Darkwing Duck"
add 1 part "Launchpad McQuack"
pour in 2 parts "Indiana Jones" and a pinch of oversized comedic sidekick "Sallah"
mix in a bowl with a whip...(whip it good)
bake in oven at 375ยบ for 6 hours

Round 31: Oh What A Guy Is Gaston!

Here's my hat being thrown oh so gingerly into the ring.  I couldn't help but think that Jabba The Hut would make a finer statue on Gaston's wall than The Beast.  And what better way to kill Jabba than by choking him to death.  Of course, to do this, you would disguise yourself as Bobba Fett.  Clearly, I've worked this entire thing out.

See the preliminary sketches at my personal blog, NeedYourDisease.com

Round 31: Who's got the sweetest disposition? One guess, that's who.

If you look close at this Disney/LucasFilm conglomeration, past the Star Wars mash ups to it's very nucleus you will find this ill tempered thing staring back at you.  Howard the Duck, a dirtier Donald Duck, a property of Marvel Comics (also owned by Disney) was once the hero of LucasFilm's movie adaptation of the Howard comic book.  And where is Howard fictionally from?  Cleveland, Ohio!  Truly a perfect storm that I couldn't dare not to draw.

Disney vs. Lucas Sketchy Preview

The Rust Belt Monsters are gearing up for Lucas vs. Disney and here's a quick preview of Ben's piece. Be sure to check back to see the finished art!

Superhero Sketches!

I'm in the process of locking down a character design and need to create a model sheet to keep my character consistent   After a whole bunch of drawing, I've narrowed down my favorite sketches and I'll be using them to put together my final design.  Thought I'd throw them up here for people to see.

Erin Round 30: Sneak Peak 2!

Another little taste of what's coming. Have a good Wednesday everyone!

Round 31: Disney and Lucasfilms

First they came for the Muppets.  Next they came for Marvel.  Now they take our Star Wars.  Can anything stop the evil forces of...Disney?  Who knows?  The Rust Belt Monsters have decided to call an audible with our normal schedule and get topical.  Of course, doing a round of political art would make more sense, but that's not what we're about.  So we've decided to take on Disney's recent acquisition of Lucasfilm.  Keep checking back here as we merge Disney properties with the work of George Lucas: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Willow, even Young Sherlock Holmes.
